chamber of commerce school update

Here at lunch listening to. Dr Cohn give updates on our schools.
WASL scores ok, he is spinning just a little about graduation rates.
Music program touted! No question there. Kids need an emotional outlet, our music program is stellar.
Technical programs are getting better. Wish there was a program like that when I was going to school.
Fairview closed, Roosevelt will be the only middle school in Port Angeles.
Wish he would address the question of why the student population is getting smaller.

Nice presentation I still think the schools are better here than 90 percent of the state,

The small nonprofit OTT (olympic timbertown) received a large donation today from an anonymous donor, who has a vision to preserve the timber heritage of the North Olympic Peninsula. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is...........

Thank you , the underdog vision gets a nice shot in the arm.

What this Blog is not...

I have read over Port Angeles Online, and I like it! It does a great job being an alternative to a traditional newspaper. I want my blog to be more a representation of the experience of living in Port Angeles, what events are like, what people are feeling, the undertone of what Port Angeles is going through.

This doesn't have anything to do with Port Angeles...

Ok this doesn't have anything to do with Port Angeles, but I need a place to vent. I left my camera at home, so like any other frustrated dentist I go to costco to buy a new one, (we needed another one anyway since my son dropped his in the sand).
I should have known I should have known better! As I was browsing the camera section at Costco, figuring to spend a couple hundred bucks I glanced at the SonyPSC-W90 figuring to be a "Sony" and an 8.1 megapixel at that I nabbed it.
What the hell was I thinking! As I was opening the box I knew I would take this thing back. There is no SD slot, and no mini USB jack. Two things I REQUIRE on a camera isn't it about time there is a standard so dopes like me don't get suckered into the Sony universe, or the Apple universe, or the whataverse I want a charging, and a memory standard please, mess with everything else, and revisit the standard every 10 years or so, but cmon help!

Off to Gnomedex this weekend, blogger conference, maybe I'll be able to update this blog more. Gotta get this blog in order. Last weekend was wonderful, two weeks ago, we were guarding Arts in Action sand sculptures.
